Arnica 1

The Chesa Arnica is located in La Punt, 14 km from St. Moritz. It consists of five furnished 2½-room apartment. The location is quiet and very sunny with a beautiful view of the Engadine mountains. Many opportunities to do sports. Hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, skiing, bobsled, flying etc. Just enjoy it.

All apartments were renovated in 2013. They are: new kitchen, new bathrooms, new lighting, new flooring and partly new furniture was done. It pays to book with us. The apartment consists of a cozy living room with sleep bed, dining area, sitting area, fireplace, flat screen TV with radio function, fitted kitchen, 1 bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes, bathroom / WC, parking. 

Grocery stores are 400 meters, 200 meters restaurants and the bus stop and the train station 300 meters away.

Designed from the start to exist in perfect harmony with its surrounding countryside, the line stands as a monument to the pioneering days of railway-building. Since July 2008, the Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Railway have been on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. Where landscape and railway blend into one: in a series of wide expanses and elegant man-made structures, along the winding route through abruptly-sloping Alpine valleys. Monumental landmarks along the way include the Landwasser Viaduct, the series of winding tunnels between Bergün and Preda and the Circular Viaduct at Brusio. The line continues to be a model of its type.

Excursion possibilities: However, the picturesque village also enjoys a strategically favourable location at the sunny foot of the Albula Pass, directly by the River Inn. Or in other words, at the departure point for varied tours by mountain bike, racing bike, in-line skates or on foot – for example, along the high-altitude trail. Moreover, La Punt Chamues-ch is located at the beginning of a ruggedly romantic secret. The Val Chamuera is considered the most primeval valley in all of the Engadin. And on the Alp Serlas, there is no kiosk to attract visitors, but rather an indescribable feeling of happiness evoked by the beautiful, unspoilt nature.

Location description: The name reveals the fact that La Punt Chamues-ch consists of two parts. Chamues-ch is the older. The first written record of this former farming village dates from 1137, when the bishop of Chur bought it from the Count of Gamertingen. The beautiful old farmhouses nearly all date from after 1499 – when, during the Swabian War, the inhabitants set fire to their wooden houses in the face of the advancing enemy to encourage them to turn back. The other part of the village, La Punt (“The Bridge”), grew with the increasing trade activity over the Albula Pass. The wealthy trading families of Albertini und Pirani built grand patrician houses here in the 16th and 17th centuries. The village is also home to elaborately decorated farmhouses, as well as the impressive Sandoz house with its hall-like passageway through to the middle of the building – and of course the famous restaurant Chesa Pirani, with its baroque panelled parlour and two Michelin stars.

    “La casa è facilmente raggiungibile dal bivio per l’Albula e si trova in una posizione ottimale per godere di un’ottima vista. È all’interno di una zona residenziale tranquilla per cui c’è pace senza eccessivo isolamento. L’appartamento in sé è davvero piccolino ma non dá una sensazione di soffocamento, anzi, essendo al piano terra si può usufruire di una veranda con tavolino e 4 sedie e di un pezzetto di giardino da cui godere di albe e tramonti meravigliosi e per il nostro cagnolino era l’ideale stare ancora un po’ fuori con noi in giardino al ritorno di una gita.
    Cucina ben attrezzata è molto funzionale. Posto auto assegnato proprio di fronte a casa. Letto matrimoniale con bel materasso abbastanza rigido come piace a me che soffro di mal di schiena, cioè non materasso dove si sprofonda perché sfondato.
    Ho avuto bisogno di alcune informazioni prima di partire e sia telefonando che via mail ho ricevuto risposte nel giro di pochissimo tempo da persone molto gentili.
    Per la spesa c’è il Volg raggiungibile a piedi in 10 minuti circa o 2 minuti di auto.
    Noi siamo stati sicuramente aiutati da un tempo spettacolare, perché non abbiamo mai visto una nuvola, ma riteniamo comunque l’esperienza presso Chesa Arnica 1 molto positiva ! Positiv: Mio marito ed io abbiamo apprezzato molto la posizione con una vista meravigliosa, la pulizia, gli ambienti confortevoli, (poltrone comodissime) , Wi-Fi molto ben funzionante, e la cucina ben fornita e molto pratica! Negativ: Una piccolezza: mi è un po’ mancato un microonde. Io lo utilizzo spesso a casa per riscaldare piccole quantità di cibo senza sporcare pentole in continuazione.
    E mi sono mancati un po’ dei comodini con un cassetto, li trovo molto comodi.”

    “Insgesamt sehr gut, gerne wieder. Positiv: Sehr vollständig ausgestattete Küche, bequemes Bett, Sitzplatz, Spaghetti und Tomatensauce als Willommensgeschenk - besten Dank! Negativ: Einige wenige Zigarettenstummel und Plastikabfall in der direkt am Sitzplatz angrenzenden Wiese. Das sagt aber hauptsächlich etwas über die Gäste des Hauses aus.”

    “Würde ich weiterempfehlen, jedoch mache ich nicht, da wir selber wieder kommen möchten. Positiv: sehr gute Lage, gute Ausstattung, sehr gut auch Fondue und Rechaud Pfannen für ganzes Haus nutzbar, Negativ: Wohnung war trotz Heizung voll aufgedreht doch etwas kühl (Jahreszeit). Vermutlich sind die Fenster und Türen nicht sehr gut isoliert. Zu wenig WC-Papier vorhanden.”
